Negative Life Events Scale (NLES)ΒΆ

The NLES focuses on family, community, and school-based stressors that children may be exposed to and are known to be related to negative physical and mental health outcomes. Children are asked to rate whether the event occurred and their level of resulting stress.

Domains Assessed: Distress Tolerance, Trauma

Note: The NLES is administered to participants ages 8-18.
